SCHOTT SOLAR NEW EFFICIENCY WORLD RECORD

SCHOTT Solar set a new world record in monocrystalline screen-printed solar cells efficiency.

The new record is a stunning 20.2 percent cell efficiency, confirmed independently by the Fraunhofer Institute.

Furthermore, SCHOTT Solar is has developed a new technique for high-performance wafers called "Quasimono". These cells can be produced at considerably less costs and at the same time achieve a record efficiency of 19.9 percent confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute in November 2011.

The new SCHOTT PERFORM MONO solar module will be launched in 2012 incorporating this exciting cell technology.

In another research breakthrough project, SCHOTT Solar managed to manufacture polycrystalline solar cells with an unbeatable cost advantage and an efficiency of 18 percent by replacing expensive silver contacts with copper. This reduces the the manufacturing costs of the front side metallization by over 50 percent.

Solarmatrix is a proud distributor of SCHOTT Solar panels in Australia and will be one of the first wholesalers to make these innovations available to the Australian PV industry in 2012.
