Additionally the Federal government offer a maximum rebate of $8,000.00 towards the cost of a 1 kW system to eligible buyers and the Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) that such a system creates can be surrendered at time of purchase allowing a further discount off the purchase price.

How Does It Work?
When sun light hits the surface of your solar modules, DC electrical power is produced. Your system will have several solar modules connected together to form a solar array on your roof.
This high voltage DC power is wired down to an isolation enclosure for easy disconnection of the power and then on to the special DC/AC solar inverter which converts the DC power from the solar array and inverts it into AC power for use within the home and for exporting to the grid.
The inverter is a high technology piece of equipment that works automatically whenever there is enough solar power available, so it will start automatically in the morning and stop automatically after sunset. In the case of the utility grid failing through fallen power lines or general blackout, the inverter will automatically disconnect from the grid thereby safeguarding the utility company workers working to restore power. Once this has happened the inverter will reconnect to the grid.

Renewable Energy Credits
Renewable Energy Certificates (REC's) can be traded with registered trading companies and the exact value can vary on a daily basis and can be redeemed immediately for a 15 year period.
Solar Matrix will assist you in the assigning of you RECs and complete the necessary paperwork.
Alternatively, you may wish to hold on to your RECs if you believe that they will increase in value over time.
If you wish to assign them, a 1,020W system installed in Perth would have its REC calculation based as follows: 1.02kW x 1.382 x 15 years = 21 REC’s rounded down.
All our systems create Renewable Energy Credits. Please check with our staff what that means for you. The exact financial benefit of your REC’s will depend on the system size, your post code/zone area and the value of a REC at time of assignment.
