Feed-in Tariffs
Residential Feed-in Tariffs in Australia

Feed-in tariffs in Australia are a complex landscape due to the fact that every state has its own legislation. Furthermore the existing feed-in tariffs are bound to frequent changes. So far, most feed-in tariffs are on a NET basis, i.e. only the surplus electricity that is generated and exported back to the grid will be remunerated. At the moment, Queensland has the most generous feed-in tariff scheme in place.
Commercial Feed-in Tariffs in Australia
Victoria has a commercial feed-in tariff system where electricity exports are remunerated on a one-to-one basis. ACT is working on a scheme as well.
Western Australia has no commercial feed-in tariff yet, however different rules apply in the Horizon Power network in the rural areas e.g. around Broome or Esperance.
For large solar projects individual PPA's (Power Purchase Agreements) can be negotiated with the utilities. Solarmatrix offers its services to help you to negotiate these vital agreements for your solar investment.
