PROJECT BRIEF 1
Telecommunications
Solarmatrix engineers have been selected to work with Siemens to deliver a reliable power supply to very remote locations in the Sultanate of Oman to power microwave repeater stations for the local telecommunications provider Omantel. Most of the sites were only accessible by helicopter which added to the complication to ensure that the design, product selection and delivery schedule were well done and executed.
| Location: | Sultanate of Oman |
| Project Date: | 2003 |
| System Sizes: | 7 systems ranging from 1.2kWp to 2.4kWp |
| Customer: | Omantel |
| Solar Modules Technology: | Monocrystalline (Astropower) |
| Controllers: | Plasmatronics SPSD |
| Batteries: | Hoppecke OPzV |
PROJECT BRIEF 2
HF Communications
In 2005 Solarmatrix engineers have been working with a local Victorian communications company to design solar power systems for the Emergency Services. The systems purpose was to power HF emergency communication services in very remote locations in the Victorian Alps.
Due to the high wind and snow loads we had to deliver a mounting system which was strong enough to withstand extreme weather conditions, offer protection for communication shelters and act as a mounting frame for the solar array.
With the support of local West Australian metal engineering companies we have delivered a strong structure to fulfil all of the above requirements.

| Location: | Victorian Alps, Australia |
| Project Date: | 2004 |
| System Sizes: | 8 systems 2.5kWp each |
| Customer: | EAS |
| Solar Modules Technology: | Monocrystalline (Sunpower) |
| Controllers: | Blue Sky Energy MPPT Controllers |
| Batteries: | Enersys OPzV |
